Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting a hands-on Management Accountant for a retail company in Birmingham. You will produce monthly management accounts, perform variance analysis and provide clear commentary to support business decisions.

You'll own key finance processes, drive improvements and contribute to a growing finance function, with exposure to statutory reporting and VAT. This role offers study support and clear progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience producing or significantly contributing to monthly management accounts.
• Strong balance sheet reconciliation and financial control experience.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong Excel capabilities.
• High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
• A hands-on approach and willingness to get involved in the detail.
• The ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
• A proactive mindset with a genuine interest in improving processes and reporting.Experience of working within a changing or growing business environment would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of Pegasus Opera would be beneficial but is not essential.

Responsibilities

You will ideally be:

• Qualified, part-qualified or studying towards CIMA, ACCA or ACA, or
• Able to demonstrate equivalent management accounting experience.

Job Offer

• Salary up to £45,000
