Job Description

We are seeking a Management Accountant to join our expanding team based in Deeside. The ideal candidate will support financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Working closely with the management accountant, this is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate looking to gain additional exposure to month-end management accounts.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, 08:30 am to 5:00 pm (some flexibility may be needed depending on business needs), offering a competitive salary and benefits, with the opportunity to work for a forward-thinking market leader.

Job Purpose

As a Management Accountant, you will produce management accounts and commentary for key areas of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports for central overhead cost centers, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
• Data Entry: Accurately enter financial data into accounting systems and maintain up-to-date financial records.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare budgets and financial forecasts; monitor actual performance against budgets.
• Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
• Administrative Tasks: Manage general administrative duties, such as handling the central mailbox and responding to business queries.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant – CIMA, ACCA, or ACA
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in management or financial accounting
• Strong Excel skills, including creating and developing spreadsheets with functions (pivot tables, lookups, etc.) or macros to automate processes
• Ability to proactively identify and implement process improvements
• Strong knowledge of accounting regulations, procedures, and current legislation
• High attention to detail with the ability to review and identify errors or queries
• Continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to implement process improvements efficiently
• Flexible and adaptable approach to work
• Team player with the ability to collaborate with and challenge finance and operational colleagues appropriately
• Analytical skills to interpret data and work with the business to conclusions
• Proficiency in Word and PowerPoint
