Management Accountant

Management Accountant | Permanent | Stonehouse | up to £55,000

Job Summary

To manage, be responsible for and where appropriate undertake activities in the following areas:

1. Assist with preparation of Monthly Management Accounts including commentary
2. Business Information & Management Reporting
3. General accounting & related work
4. Bank Reconciliations and cashflow forecasting
5. Assist with preparation of Company Budgets
6. Assist with annual Audit

Main Duties and Key Responsibilities

Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts, including:

1. Concise commentary using exception reporting
2. Graphs & appropriate KPI's
3. Reporting against Prior Year and Budget
4. Business Information & Management Reporting
5. Report and communicate timely & relevant information on an agreed frequency including orders, sales, gross margins, purchases, stock, debtors and any other key area
6. Help develop KPI's which monitor Business Critical Activity
7. General Accounting and related work
8. Accurate calculation and posting of accruals and prepayments
9. Monthly control account reconciliations (e.g. bank, debtors, creditors, stock, fixed assets, intercompany)
10. Perform full GL analysis
11. Maintenance and accurate upkeep of Fixed Asset Register
12. Writing reports using SQL in Excel and releasing to business
13. Reporting for EC Sales and Intrastat
14. Complete VAT returns monthly
15. Ad hoc work as required by the business
16. Provide cover during periods of absence /holiday

Knowledge and Experience

1. AAT Qualified desirable
2. Part qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA Accountant desirable
3. FMCG manufacturing in Food and Drink sector desirable
4. Management Accounts & KPI preparation and reporting
5. Expert user in ERP/MRP (e.g. SAP B1, Sage 1000 or Exchequer)
6. Expert Excel user including using SQL
