Overview

Are you a proactive finance professional looking to take the next step in your career? We're on the hunt for a dynamic Management Accountant to join a busy Head Office finance team in Plymouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the financial operations of a large and successful organisation, supporting both UK and Republic of Ireland activities.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, and reporting packs) with clear variance analysis
  • Monitoring and forecasting working cashflow to support liquidity
  • Ensuring compliance with VAT, ONS, and Intrastat returns
  • Supporting all areas of the finance function including Revenue, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Expenditure
  • Reviewing and maintaining sensitive nominal codes across P&L and Balance Sheet
  • Posting journals and assisting with budgeting and reforecasting
  • Ensuring timely and accurate bank reconciliations
  • Overseeing supplier and employee payments
  • Assisting with fixed asset management and depreciation
  • Partnering with teams across the business to provide financial insight
  • Reviewing and challenging monthly accruals
  • Contributing to projects aimed at streamlining processes
  • Supporting year-end audit preparation and other ad hoc tasks
What You'll Bring
  • Proven experience in a commercial finance environment
  • Strong track record preparing management accounts with commentary
  • Experience working with multiple currencies
  • Advanced Excel skills (financial modelling experience desirable)
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Confidence to challenge existing practices and drive improvements
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
