Job summary

Fairbanks Environmental Ltd, part of Dover Fueling Solutions, is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis.

You will lead monthly management accounts, provide financial insights to operational teams, and support forecasting, budgeting, and compliance activities. The role offers a hybrid working pattern and opportunities to drive process improvements.

Candidates with AAT/CIMA/ACCA/QBE progress and strong Excel skills are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• AAT qualified or studying towards CIMA/ACCA/QBE.
• Experience preparing monthly management accounts.
• Experience in financial forecasting.
• Ability to provide sound financial guidance to aid decision making.
• Innovative, proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and third parties.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics BC desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly management accounts preparation, including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis.
• Act as a trusted advisor to operational teams.
• Balance sheet review and reconciliation.
• Support forecasting, budgeting and working capital optimisation.
• Support audit, year-end and compliance activities.
• Post expenses and manage cash reporting.
• Support VAT and tax reporting.
• Manage general ledger activities and intercompany monitoring.
• AP/AR posting analysis and reporting.
• Create or improve operational efficiencies through process improvements.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Management Accountant to join our team at Fairbanks, Dover Fueling Solutions on a full time, permanent basis.

What we do:

For over 20 years, Fairbanks Environmental who are part of Dover Fueling Solutions, have been providing superior fuel management and forecourt services to the fuel market. Our services help to ensure legal compliance and protect the environment by detecting fuel leaks and preventing contamination.

What you will be doing:

• Lead monthly management accounts preparation, including profit and loss, balance sheet, variance analysis and month end close reporting
• Act as a trusted advisor to operational teams, providing financial insight and challenge to support decision making
• Balance sheet review and reconciliation, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company policies.
• Support the forecasting, budgeting and working capital optimisation process
• Support audit, year end and compliance activities including MSS/SAO/STBV/PSA
• Complete expenses review and posting
• Support cash management and reporting
• Support VAT and tax reporting
• Manage general ledger activities, journal postings, intercompany monitoring and fixed asset reporting.
• AP transactional posting analysis and reporting
• AR set-ups, transactional posting of sales invoices, analysis and reporting.
• Create or improve operational efficiencies by process improvement and automation.

The Successful Candidate will:

• AAT Qualified and or studying towards CIMA, ACCA or QBE accountancy qualification
• Experience of management accounts preparation
• Experience in financial forecasting
• Experience providing sound financial guidance to aid decision making
• Have an innovative and proactive approach to problem solving and ability to generate effective and pragmatic solutions to drive continuous improvement
• Strong excel skills
• Experience building strong relationships with stakeholders and third parties to ensure the most effective outcomes are delivered.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics BC and experience working in a Group setting is desirable but not essential
