Hays is working in exclusive partnership with a very successful business in Shrewsbury, looking for a Management Accountant to join their team. This role is suitable for a first-time mover from practice or an experienced individual from industry, offering an excellent opportunity to progress and develop your career.

Your new role

This role involves working closely with an experienced Senior Finance team. Responsibilities include:

1. Preparation of monthly management accounts, including Stock Reporting and Reconciliations, Fixed Asset Register and Depreciation, Accruals, Prepayments, and journal postings
2. Monthly Bank Reconciliations for all bank accounts, including multi-bank, multi-currency
3. Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations
4. VAT knowledge, including EU and non-EU transactions, VAT Returns, Plastic Packaging Tax
5. Importing knowledge, including import paperwork, deferment account, freight invoices, and landed costs
6. Customer, Supplier & Ship-through/Price Support rebate tracking and claiming
7. Weekly Cash Flow update

What you'll need to succeed

Our client seeks an individual who is either a first-time mover from practice or experienced in industry, with a passion to learn and develop, and who can see the bigger picture. Ideally, you will be part or fully qualified in ACCA or CIMA, but qualified by experience will also be considered.

• You should be a motivated, self-starter who can operate with minimal supervision, has the initiative to improve processes, and is confident to suggest more efficient methods.
• You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as strong IT and Excel skills.
