A high-growth business in Wigan is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to take ownership of management accounts, budgeting, and forecasting. In this hybrid role, you will lead two assistants, ensuring a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate has strong accounts experience and good Excel skills. Qualifications

Overview

Management Accountant | £37,500 - £40,000 | Wigan + Hybrid | Industry-leading business | Fantastic Benefits + Flexibility

Axon Moore are pleased to be partnering a high-growth business in Wigan as they look to recruit an experienced and ambitious Management Accountant capable of hitting the ground running in a fast-paced role taking ownership for fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the team, as well as the production of management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, VAT returns and the direct line management of two assistants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce monthly management accounts
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Produce and posting journals
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register
  • Variance analysis and reporting on key financial metrics
  • Assist with financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting duties
  • Quarterly VAT returns
  • Training, mentoring and supporting junior members of the team
  • Provide insightful financial analysis to aid strategic decision-making
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and change initiatives across the business
  • Other ad-hoc duties and project work
Required Skills and Experience
  • Strong management accounts experience (ideally 3+ years)
  • Good IT and MS Excel skills (VLookups, Pivots as a minimum)
  • Part Qualified ACCA/CIMA or QBE
  • Good attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Able to work collaboratively and independently
