Job summary

RG Consultancy are working with a fantastic SME in Rochdale who are looking to recruit a Management Accountant to join their finance team. You will join a small accounts team, being responsible for the company & management accounts, reporting into the Finance Manager.

The role includes preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts, reviewing transactions, bank reconciliations, journals, accruals and VAT, and supporting month-end and year-end processes.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years' management accounting experience.
• Strong IT and MS Excel skills; experience with SAGE and SAGE Payroll.
• Part or qualified in CIMA/ACCA/ACA.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts.
• Reviewing bookkeeping, ledgers and financial transactions.
• Checking bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
• Reviewing journals, accruals, prepayments and VAT reconciliations.
• Supporting month-end and year-end processes.
• Monitoring the accuracy of financial records.
• Reviewing payroll and resolving accounting queries.
• Providing financial reports and information to management.
• Liaising with external accountants and auditors.
• Improving accounting processes and financial controls.

• Part or qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA
• Experience working within a retail, distribution or wholesale environment would be an advantage
