The role

Our new Management Accountant will be key in supporting the Head of Finance and the wider Finance Team, playing a pivotal role in providing support for daily operations and month-end activities of the business, ensuring accurate and timely financial reports to the Senior Management team.

Their primary role is to manage key areas of the financial systems and processes to ensure financial information is timely, accurate, complete, and compliant with relevant accounting standards and company expectations.

  1. Monthly Reporting;
  2. Ownership and accountability for the month-end process, including preparation of comprehensive monthly financial reports such as P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and Control accounts. Additionally, a detailed analysis of assets under management and customer profiles is required within the reporting pack.
  3. Ability to present month-end performance to the Senior Leadership Team.
  4. Support the development of new processes to relay financial performance efficiently and effectively across the business.
  5. Timely submission of statements to the Group Reporting Team.
  6. Accounts Management
  7. Lead the Accounts Assistant and review transactional entries.
  8. Reconcile and analyze financial data for accuracy and compliance.
  9. Ensure appropriate accounting treatment of journal entries, including accruals, intercompany, tax, and payroll journals each month.
  10. Prepare accounting data for FCA regulatory submissions.
  11. VAT & Payroll
  12. Quarterly VAT return preparation.
  13. Collaborate with the Employee Experience team for payroll processing each month.
  14. Reconcile payroll and post journals, ensuring HMRC compliance and advising on P11d rules.
  15. Reconcile total headcount per department and report variances to the Head of Finance and Finance Business Partner for recruitment planning.
  16. Payments
  17. Review payments to suppliers and customers, liaising with the Customer Care Team to resolve queries promptly.
  18. External Audit Reporting
  19. Facilitate external audits by addressing queries and providing necessary documentation.
  20. Ad hoc
  21. Participate in finance projects, including expense reporting, R&D tax submissions, and other ad-hoc reporting needs.

  • Qualified Financial or Management Accountant (ACCA, ICAEW, CIMA, ACA) with experience managing month-end processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and P&L reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deliverables effectively.
  • Highly numerate with strong commercial awareness.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
