The role

Our new Management Accountant will be key in supporting the Head of Finance and wider Finance Team, playing a pivotal role in providing support to manage daily operations and month-end activities of the business, and to ensure accurate and timely financial reports are delivered to the Senior Management team.

Their primary role is to manage key areas of the financial systems and processes to ensure financial information is timely, accurate, complete, and compliant with relevant accounting requirements and company expectations.

  • Monthly Reporting:
  • End-to-end ownership and accountability for the month-end process with preparation of full suite of monthly financial Reports including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and Control accounts. A full analysis of Assets under Management and customer profiles is also required within the Reporting Pack.
  • Ability to present Month-End performance to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Initiate and support the development of new processes to ensure financial performance is relayed efficiently and succinctly to the wider business.
  • Timely submission of statements to Group Reporting Team.
  • Accounts Management:
  • Lead Accounts Assistant and review transactional entries.
  • Reconcile and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure appropriate accounting treatment of journal entries and summaries each month-end, including Accruals, Intercompany, Tax, and payroll journals.
  • Preparation of accounting data for timely FCA regulatory submissions.
  • VAT & Payroll:
  • Quarterly preparation of VAT returns.
  • Work closely with Employee Experience team throughout each month to prepare and execute payroll.
  • Complete monthly payroll reconciliation and post journals, maintaining HMRC compliance and advising on P11d impact/rules.
  • Reconcile and report total headcount per department to the Head of Finance, highlighting variances to forecast.
  • Payments:
  • Review payments to Suppliers and Customers, and liaise with the Customer Care Team to resolve queries promptly.
  • External Audit reporting:
  • Facilitate the external audit process by addressing auditor queries and providing necessary information.
  • Ad hoc:
  • Participate in finance projects, including expense reporting, tax matters (including R&D tax submissions), and other ad-hoc reporting requirements.

  • Financial or Management Accountant with experience managing the month-end process, including balance sheet reconciliations and P&L reporting.
  • Fully qualified (ACCA/ICAEW/CIMA/ACA).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritized deliverables.
  • Highly numerate with good commercial awareness.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
