We have an amazing opportunity for a Management Accountant in the Financial Accounting team, reporting to the Senior Management Accountant. The Financial Accounting team take responsibility for the running of the company’s financial accounting function, lease accounting, non-current assets, taxation, compliance, statutory reporting, and consolidation.

The key focus of your role will be to provide timely insight into the performance of the business through the provision of high-quality management information. Actively driving improvements in margin, cash and working capital through project controlling and overhead control initiatives. If this sounds like the perfect opportunity for you then apply now!

What you will be doing:

  • Management and development responsibility for an Assistant Management Accountant and Accounts Assistant
  • In conjunction with the rest of the management accounting team, complete all month-end tasks on a timely and accurate basis
  • Ensure all P&Ls, the balance sheet and cash flow as well as all supporting management information for numerous entities, including foreign subsidiaries, are completed on a timely, accurate and high-quality basis
  • Complete project reporting, sales margin reports and all other monthly reporting as well as financial KPIs to drive margin and working capital improvements
  • Reconcile all deferred and accrued balance sheet accounts, ensuring timely analysis of reconciliations of balances at a customer and project level
  • Involvement in key areas such as Non-Recurring Revenue, Stock, Accruals, Prepayments as well as Margin Reporting
  • Prepare all Balance Sheet Reconciliations monthly, and where relevant review reconciliations done by other team members
  • Assist in business partnering and providing valuable reporting to other departments in the business
  • Assist with the implementation of any process or system improvements
  • Assist in the budget process, ensuring an accurate and high-quality budget is produced within the agreed timelines and then support any subsequent re-forecasts
  • Work on Ad hoc projects as required by Senior Management Accountant

What we’re looking for:

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA or proven track record through demonstrable experience
  • Demonstrable experience working in a management accounting team, in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to prepare full-cycle management accounts and adhere to month-end processes with precision and proficiency
  • Detailed knowledge of FRS101 and IFRS accounting standards
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Advanced user of Excel
  • Excellent management and communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to implement systems, processes, and controls

It would be desirable if you have:

  • Experience in project accounting
  • Experience of IFS (ERP system)
