Job summary

Husqvarna Group in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced Accountant to support monthly financial accounts for the UK. The role requires four days on site with one day remote work, located in Newton Aycliffe.

You will coordinate closes, perform analyses, and prepare consolidated UK reporting. The ideal candidate holds CIMA/ACCA or equivalent with 3+ years post-qualification experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with SAP or JDE ERP systems.

The Accountant will support the accurate preparation of monthly financial accounts for the UK.

This is a site based role requiring four days per week on site, with the flexibility to work from home one day per week.

Responsibilities and Key Tasks

• Coordinate the monthly financial close, ensuring activities are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Perform routine account analysis, reviews and transactional accounting, liaising with third parties and internal management as required.
• Prepare and fully reconcile accruals, prepayments and provisions.
• Prepare and submit monthly group reporting.
• Maintain control of the Sales Company's fixed assets, including monthly reconciliations, reporting and depreciation postings.
• Maintain control of the Sales Company's right of use assets, ensuring reporting complies with applicable accounting standards.
• Analyse financial data and prepare accurate general ledger journal entries.
• Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Support the external audit process by liaising with auditors and providing relevant documentation.
• Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
• Complete monthly stock reconciliations across the JDE, PRMS and REX systems, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Prepare and submit the UK VAT return, ensuring records are accurate and processes remain compliant with relevant requirements.
• Arrange and monitor monthly foreign exchange hedging activities.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

• CIMA, ACCA or equivalently qualified, with at least three years relevant post qualification experience.
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, practices and procedures.
• Good understanding of external audit processes and requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across the business and with external stakeholders.
• A continuous improvement mindset and a proactive approach to strengthening financial processes and controls.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience using SAP and/or JDE ERP systems.
• Experience with group reporting packages, knowledge of AARO would be advantageous.
