A leading company in Newton Aycliffe is seeking a hands-on Management Accountant to take ownership of financial processes. This role involves producing management accounts, managing VAT returns, and supporting strategic decision-making with the Directors. Ideal candidates will have strong experience in management accounting and proficiency in Sage 50 and Excel.

• Ideally part-qualified or qualified (AAT, ACCA, CIMA).

Your new company
Are you a hands-on Management Accountant looking to make a real impact in a dynamic, owner-managed business? On behalf of our client I am looking to recruit a proactive and detail-oriented individual to take ownership of the financial processes and help drive informed decision-making.
Your new role
As the on-site Management Accountant you will play a key role in the business, working closely with the Directors:-

• Producing monthly management accounts (MMA) with insightful commentary
• Preparing and presenting flash accounts to support strategic planning
• Managing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations
• Overseeing weekly and monthly payroll processes
• Using Sage 50 & Excel for all accounts processing and reporting
• Supporting the owner with ad hoc financial analysis and business planning

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience in a similar Management Accountant role
• Strong working knowledge of Sage 50
• Excellent understanding of VAT, payroll, and management accounts preparation
• A self-starter with a hands-on approach and strong attention to detail
• Ideally part-qualified or qualified (AAT, ACCA, CIMA) - but it's really the experience counts!
