Prior’s Court is home to extraordinary autistic young people with complex needs, and everything we do is driven by the desire to help them live more independent, fulfilling lives. The Management Accountant plays a key role within the Finance team, ensuring the charity’s financial operations run efficiently and that accurate, timely reporting supports informed decision-making.
Key responsibilities include producing consolidated monthly management accounts with detailed variance analysis and commentary; leading month-end processes including journals, reconciliations, and ownership of key balance sheet areas; providing financial insights to drive performance, cash flow forecasting, and ad hoc analysis; overseeing quarterly VAT returns including partial exemption calculations; submitting monthly ONS surveys; supporting budgeting, forecasting, continuous improvement initiatives, and system enhancements; and assisting with year-end audit preparation. The role also involves providing team holiday cover and occasionally deputising for the Director of Finance.
The position requires a fully qualified ACCA accountant with at least three years’ experience in management accounting and financial processing, strong analytical and organisational skills, high attention to detail, and confidence managing multiple priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and wider Microsoft Office is essential. Experience with Sage Intacct, the charity or not-for-profit sector, education environments, or working with autism or complex needs settings is desirable.
Due to the rural location near Newbury, candidates must be able to drive.
