Business Controller - Bus, Coach & Power Solutions - Maternity Cover

12 Month Fixed Term Contract £44,000 to £46,000 Hybrid Working

Location: Milton Keynes

Contract: 12 month fixed term contract (maternity cover)

Salary: £44,000 to £46,000 per annum, depending on experience

About the Role

We are working on behalf of a well established, global commercial vehicle manufacturer to find a Business Controller to join its Bus, Coach and Power Solutions finance team on a 12 month fixed term contract, covering a period of maternity leave. This is a great opportunity for a part qualified or qualified by experience finance professional who enjoys working across multiple systems, close to the commercial side of the business, and wants exposure to a genuinely varied and interesting sector within automotive finance.

You will take ownership of month end reporting, support the year end audit process, and complete next year's budget for the division, all while building strong working relationships with the Head of Sales and a close knit, high performing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Own month end reporting for the Bus, Coach and Power Solutions division, working to a tight reporting deadline.
• Act as the main point of contact for external auditors around year end and support the annual audit.
• Complete the annual budget for the division, covering units, revenue and cost of sale.
• Business partner with the Head of Sales and other senior stakeholders across a close knit divisional team.
• Work across multiple finance and operational systems, including an older, workshop focused system, pulling information together to build an accurate financial picture.
• Get to grips with a genuinely varied commercial model, spanning both direct retail sales and fleet business, plus international bodybuilder relationships and related import/export considerations.
• Work closely with the wider administration team to keep processes running smoothly.

What We Are Looking For

• AAT qualified or equivalent, or qualified by experience with a solid grounding in basic bookkeeping and double entry.
• Comfortable working across multiple systems, including older or less intuitive ones, and confident enough to flag what you don't know and find out.
• Experience in automotive is helpful but not essential; strong transactional, multi system experience is equally valued.
• A personable, confident communicator who enjoys building relationships with a small, close knit team.
• Comfortable working to tight month end deadlines, with time off in lieu offered for additional hours worked.
