Marks Sattin (UK) Ltd is recruiting a Management Accountant in Manchester city centre for a hybrid role. The position offers a temp-to-perm pathway with a clear route to a long-term role in a growing business.

You will lead monthly management reporting and collaborate across the finance team to drive improvements. The ideal candidate is qualified (ACCA/ACCA/CIMA) or nearing qualification, with proven experience in monthly management accounts, strong accounting knowledge, and proficient Excel

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts and meet reporting deadlines.
• Manage accruals, prepayments, journals and other month-end activities.
• Prepare payroll journals and reconciliations.
• Deliver insightful financial analysis and commentary for decision making.
• Produce P&L, Balance Sheet and management information packs.
• Support flash reports and KPI reporting.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain controls.
• Identify process improvements and efficiency opportunities.
• Assist with year-end procedures and audit work.

Management Accountant (Temp-to-Perm)

Manchester City Centre | Hybrid Working | £50,000 - £55,000

What You'll Be Doing

As Management Accountant, you'll play a key role in supporting the financial performance of the business by providing accurate reporting, insightful analysis, and valuable support to stakeholders across the organisation.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Producing monthly management accounts and ensuring reporting deadlines are met.
• Managing accruals, prepayments, journals, and other month-end accounting activities.
• Preparing payroll journals and completing associated reconciliations.
• Delivering meaningful financial analysis and commentary to support informed decision-making.
• Producing Profit & Loss reports, Balance Sheets, and management information packs.
• Supporting the creation of flash reports and key performance reporting.
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining strong financial controls.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems, and reporting efficiencies.
• Assisting with year-end procedures, audit preparation, and tax-related activities.
• Working closely with colleagues across Finance and supporting business projects when required.

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys being part of a team, has strong technical accounting knowledge, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.

You’ll ideally have:

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification (or be in the final stages of qualifying).
• Experience preparing monthly management accounts.
• A solid understanding of month-end processes and financial reporting.
• Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
• The ability to confidently communicate financial information to a variety of stakeholders.
• Excellent Excel skills and experience working with finance systems.
• A proactive mindset and a passion for improving processes and finding better ways of working.
