Job summary

ICAEW Manchester seeks a qualified Management Accountant to own monthly management accounts, provide detailed P&L analysis and commentary across the business. You will drive balance sheet reconciliations, support budgeting and forecasting, and contribute to Board and statutory reporting.

You will also lead process improvements across finance, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA accountant with strong month-end and P&L analysis skills.
• Experience in balance sheet reconciliations and detailed financial commentary.

Your new company

A fast-growing and ambitious consumer-led business based in Manchester is looking to appoint a Management Accountant to join its expanding finance team. Operating within a dynamic, fast-paced environment, the business has experienced significant growth and offers an excellent opportunity to join at an exciting stage of its development.

Your new role

You will take ownership of monthly management accounts, providing detailed P&L analysis and commentary across different areas of the business. You'll analyse costs, overheads and profitability, investigate key variances and work closely with commercial and operational stakeholders to provide meaningful financial insight. Alongside month-end reporting, you'll manage balance sheet reconciliations, support budgeting and forecasting, contribute to Board and statutory reporting and assist with year-end audit requirements. You'll also play an active role in improving processes, automation and reporting efficiencies across the finance function.

What you'll need to succeed

You'll be a qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA accountant with previous management accounting experience and strong knowledge of month-end, P&L analysis and balance sheet reconciliations. Practice-trained accountants looking for their first move to industry are also welcomed to apply. You'll have strong Excel skills and be comfortable working with large volumes of data. Most importantly, you'll be commercially minded, proactive and confident, partnering with both finance and non-finance stakeholders. Experience within a fast-paced, multi-entity, retail or e-commerce environment would be advantageous but isn't essential.
