Job description

Axon Moore are working with a large manufacturing business based in North Manchester, to recruit a part-qualified Management Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and successful company to support the finance and supply chain teams and will aid the leadership team with decision making through reporting. The role is aimed at AAT qualified/early to part-qualified ACCA/CIMA studiers with some month-end/reporting experience. It's an ideal next step for an Assistant Management Accountant.

The Management Accountant role will be responsible for assisting and supporting the delivery of operational results, budgeting and forecasting and the consolidation of group financial statements across supply chain and logistics. The role is pivotal in providing support to the wider team in order for the business to operate efficiently.

Salary and benefits:

Salary - £32-40k DOE plus study support, 33 days holiday including 5 fleixble bank holidays, up to 8% pension, free parking, life insurance 3x your salary, 9-5 core hours with flexibility and hybrid working 2-3 days in the office.

Responsibilities include:

  • Accurate completion of daily, weekly and monthly Supply Chain reporting, activities and processes ensuring accurate consolidation of group results.
  • Completion of month end reporting and activities within group reporting timetable.
  • Assisting in all Budgets and Forecasts in the year accurately delivered on time.
  • Provide support to the Supply Chain Reporting team, Executive Leadership Team, Senior Management and budget holders aiding the decision-making process.
  • Delivery of timely and accurate Management information to drive efficiencies throughout the business.
  • Assist in the accurate delivery of the Budget and Forecast process throughout the year.
  • Responsible for adhering to key business controls in order to minimise the risk of the provision of inaccurate financial information.
  • Maintain current service levels of reporting (daily, weekly and month end activities) and continually improve to meet increasing business demands and stakeholder expectations.
  • Enabling and supporting Continuous improvement and the standardisation of relative finance processes.
  • Manage expectations of key stakeholders ensuring clear communication as to responsibilities, timescales and output.
  • Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times due to the nature and sensitivity of data reported.
  • Assist in the Half Year and Year End External Audit reporting requests.
Experience & Skill Requirements:
  • Qualified AAT looking to study further or early studier/part-qualified ACCA/CIMA
  • Previous experience with month-end close and the relative transactions
  • Experience with SAP would be beneficial
  • Intermediate Excel skills (VLookup/Pivot tables) are essential
  • Good commercial awareness and able to influence at all levels
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise work and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate accuracy and pay attention to detail
  • Work in a mature, courteous and professional manner
  • Strong interpersonal skills - approachable and down to earth with good communication skills
