Job summary

Our client in the housing sector in Greater Manchester is seeking a Management Accountant to join their team and manage the financial aspects of the development programme. You will provide high-quality financial information and advice to the Development function and leadership team.

The role is permanent and full-time, with driving required. You will work to deliver timely, accurate reporting and contribute to budgeting and forecasting, ensuring compliance and value-added financial support.

Qualifications

• AAT Level 3 qualified or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of accounting practices and financial reporting.
• Experience in producing and managing monthly management accounts.
• Ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly management accounts and financial forecasts for the development programme.
• Deliver accurate financial reporting highlighting risks, opportunities, and variances.
• Assist in corporate management accounts including intercompany consolidation.
• Provide financial support to budget holders for planning and performance management.
• Lead areas of budgeting and drive continuous improvement in financial systems and processes.
• Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations with accuracy.

Our client, a prominent organisation in the housing sector, is seeking a talented Management Accountant to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial management of their development programme. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality financial information, insight, and advice is provided to the Development function and wider leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the production of monthly management accounts and financial forecasts related to the development programme.
• Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, highlighting risks, opportunities, and variances.
• Assist in preparing financial information for corporate management accounts, including intercompany consolidation.
• Provide financial support to budget holders, enabling effective financial planning and performance management.
• Lead specific areas of the budgeting process, driving continuous improvement in financial systems and processes.
• Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations with a focus on accuracy and clarity.
• Support the preparation of statutory accounts and regulatory returns in line with organisational policies.
• Conduct financial appraisals of new development opportunities, identifying risks and supporting investment decisions.
• Maintain financial systems and records to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with colleagues across Finance and the wider organisation to provide a value-adding financial service.
