Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is a based in our Head Office in Central London (NW1 4LJ), with a hybrid working model. We are also offering a competitive salary and a fantastic array of benefits.

We're now looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our Finance team. This is a full-time position with a hybrid working pattern, typically based in the office, with increased on-site days during month-end.

Job Profile:

As Management Accountant, you'll support the production of accurate and timely financial reporting, working closely with the Finance Manager and wider team. This role involves hands-on responsibility for management accounts, financial analysis, budgeting, and cost reporting, all of which contribute to key decision-making across the organisation.

We're looking for someone with solid experience in a finance role and a strong working knowledge of Excel. You should feel confident using formulas, pivot tables and spreadsheets to manage data, spot trends and produce clear, useful analysis.

Whether you're part-qualified or currently working towards a recognised accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA or ACA), we'll support your development with study support and opportunities to grow within a collaborative team.

Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss and balance sheet
  • Post and reconcile accruals, prepayments, and journal entries
  • Prepare supporting schedules and variance analysis
  • Track and report on departmental spend and operating costs
  • Analyse cost drivers and identify opportunities for efficiencies
  • Provide accurate and timely financial data to support business decisions
  • Identify and implement improvements in reporting processes
  • Support the development of financial systems and tools
  • Assist in preparing documentation for internal and external audits
  • Maintain compliance with internal policies and external regulations
  • Ensure proper version control and documentation of all outputs
  • Support any other duties as required by the Finance Manager

Skills & Experience:

  • Studying towards ACCA, CIMA, or ACA (or planning to begin)
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Sound understanding of financial principles and analysis
  • Good Excel skills
  • A team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach
  • Experience within the healthcare sector is desirable
  • Familiarity with finance systems such as Meditech, SQL, or advanced Excel functions
