The Opportunity

The Restaurant Group (TRG) is seeking a Management Accountant to join our highly successful and respected team. This role offers the opportunity to become a specialist in a key area of the P&L, while also gaining valuable experience in business partnering a division.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage a section of the Income Statement across the Group, ensuring accurate recording, understanding, and communication.
2. Deliver and communicate key financial information to the business in a timely and accurate manner.
3. Take ownership of one key division (e.g., Wagamama / Pubs / Concessions) and become a specialist, reviewing postings through to balance sheet reconciliation.
4. Partner with the division to provide customer service levels of support and analysis, aiding decision-making.
5. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports to guide business decisions.
6. Calculate and post monthly journals to accurately report the performance of the business.
7. Reconcile the balance sheet to control and safeguard assets.
8. Provide ad-hoc financial support for operations and other head office functions.
9. Participate in ad-hoc financial analysis projects.
10. Work closely with the budget holder for your assigned P&L area to assist with budgets, monthly queries, and ad hoc work.
11. Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting process for the group to identify potential P&L risks.
12. Foster strong relationships with the wider business to ensure alignment between Finance and operations.

Qualifications and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
2. Recently qualified or working towards a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
3. Strong Excel skills.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to consult and collaborate effectively.
5. Experience improving processes or challenging the status quo.
6. A desire to continuously learn and improve.
7. Inquisitive mind with a questioning approach.
8. Ability to adapt and work flexibly in a fast-paced environment.
9. Strong work ethic, high integrity, and the ability to work under pressure.
