Job description

Our Finance team are seeking aManagement Accountantto join them. You will work alongside theFinance Business Partner team, Financial Planning and Analysis Team and Financial Controls Team, to provide comprehensive financial and management accounting support.

The Houses of Parliament Restoration and Renewal (R&R) Programme is set up to preserve the Palace of Westminster, part of a UNESCO World Heritage site, for future generations and ensure it can continue to serve as the home of the UK Parliament in the 21st Century.

Working across the Finance Team you will ensure that business areas have robust financial information to support effective decision making. You will also provide support and insight in an accurate and timely way and be a sounding board to new initiatives, helping to identify risks and opportunities and explain financial concepts to non-finance people.

You will be performing month end duties for our key business areas including accruals, prepayments and account reconciliations and producing month end budget variance reports for our operations and overhead budgets. You will also assist with Year-End accounts and audit work, assist with responses to internal stakeholders on their budgets and spend and work with wider finance teams to ensure an efficient and effective service is provided at all times. An active member of our finance community, you will be expected to contribute to the continuous improvement and added value of the finance function, identifying areas where we can automate and simplify processes and co-ordinate the changes needed.

About you
Qualified or part-qualified with a Chartered Accountancy qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, ICAEW, you will have demonstrable knowledge and experience of variance, budgetary analysis and writing SMART commentary. You will have experience of building positive working relationships with those at management level and be able to demonstrate that you can work in an agile way and, as we are a new organisation, have experience of working in a changing project environment.

Salary circa £50,000 per annum
