The role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the finance function at Beams by ensuring accurate and timely management reporting, analysing financial performance, and driving process improvements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including design, planning, product and operations to support decision-making and ensure financial insights are embedded across the business.

Your responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Perform variance analysis against budget and forecast and provide insightful commentary
• Support the budgeting and forecasting processes across departments
• Maintain and improve internal financial controls and reporting processes
• Assist with month-end procedures, including accruals, prepayments and journal postings
• Prepare and maintain financial dashboards and KPI reporting
• Collaborate with operational teams to provide cost analysis and improve profitability
• Support with cash flow monitoring and forecasting
• Assist in preparation for year-end accounts and liaison with external accountants or auditors
• Take ownership of specific finance projects or continuous improvement initiatives

About you:

• Part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/AAT) with relevant experience in a management accounting or similar role
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Excellent analytical and Excel/Google Sheets skills
• Familiarity with accounting software – experience with Xero is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving approach
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup or high-growth environment
• An interest in sustainability and contributing to a greener built environment
• Previous experience in construction, technology, or consumer-focused industries
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field is preferred but not essential
