Job summary

IMG LIVE is seeking a Finance Assistant for a 6-month fixed-term contract in London. This role involves managing financial processes for talent, including invoicing and cash forecasting, and working closely with the UK Controller. Ideal candidates will possess a degree in Finance or Accounting, be part-qualified in ACCA/CIMA, and have strong numerical and communication skills. A passion for the fashion and modeling industry would be preferred.

Job description

Managing and reporting to talent or their representatives on income and expenditure.

Working with managers to ensure a smooth process throughout the entire onboarding and booking process.

Review and approval of payment proposals for talent fees.

Answering client and talent queries, including tax inquiries.

Monitoring receivables and liaising with IMG’s outsourced credit control team and internal talent agents to achieve timely collection.

Including weekly reporting of collections with commentary against forecast.

Invoicing income and expenses for clients, including recharges.

Facilitating the setup of talent banking.

Management Accounting:

  • Analyze financial information to assist profitability and growth.
  • Continual monitoring of costs to ensure staying within pre-determined budgets.
  • Variance analysis of actual results against budgets and plans.
  • Regular meetings with the business supported by monthly finance reporting, identifying KPIs.
  • Ownership and responsibility for the financial month-end and year-end close process, including financial review with variance commentary.
  • Revenue recognition analysis and journal entries.
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations with full supporting documentation, in line with group policy.
  • Oversight of vendor payments and liaison with group accounts payable to ensure timely payments.
  • Ensuring controls are in place for vendor creation, AP, and AR processes, and working to improve these processes.

Assist with planning, including 3-year long-term planning, budgeting, and quarterly forecasting.

Assist with preparation of gross profit and SG&A forecast schedules at divisional and client levels for the Fashion team, liaising with commercial colleagues to ensure accurate reflection in forecasting systems (BPC).

Weekly disbursements and 90-day cash forecasting.

Arrange and attend meetings with business leaders to ensure the Global CRM system is up-to-date for tracking all confirmed deals and pipeline.

Taxation:

  • Work closely with the UK Controller and Tax team on tax-related matters, including VAT.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Regular updates and prompt issue raising with the UK Controller.
  • Maximize cash collections and work with WNS to improve debtor aging profiles.
  • Assist with audit requests promptly.
  • Collaborate with the UK Controller and Legal Counsel on legal matters.
  • Review internal schedules and champion improvements and changes.
  • Provide backfill support for the wider team as needed.
  • Perform any other duties within the scope of the job.

Requirements:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Finance/Accounting.
  • Studying or aiming for professional qualifications (ACCA/CIMA).
  • Part-qualified or newly qualified (CIMA/ACA/ACCA or equivalent).
  • Confidence and willingness to challenge stakeholders.
  • Flexibility and teamwork across different territories.
  • Ability to work independently and resolve problems.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
  • High numeracy skills.

Preferred Skills:

Working Conditions:
