Hours of work
37.5 per week. Hours of work will be flexible and dictated by the needs of the business; therefore, it is expected that the successful applicant will work those hours necessary to successfully discharge the duties of the role. The employee will ensure they are working from the office a minimum of 3 days a week (Monday - Friday).
The role
Overview
This is a pivotal role in a fast-moving finance function that supports both the finance team and the wider business. Working closely with the wider finance team and a range of internal stakeholders, the purpose of this role is to assist with the production of timely and accurate financial information, and other analysis to support the business needs.
Key Outputs
- Preparation of monthly Management Accounts and supporting schedules according to monthly close deadlines.
- Report on key financial information, including budgetary variances and other non-financial data and KPIs.
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly Finance pack, providing insightful commentary on variances after review with internal stakeholders.
- Produce monthly Balance Sheet and Intercompany Reconciliations for group companies.
- Assist the FP&A team with annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes by building strong relationships with teams across the business.
- Business partnering with revenue generating departments through regular meetings to understand any variances to budget and be able to provide insightful analysis and suggestions.
- Play a key role in delivering ongoing and future system and process improvement projects.
- Assist with the preparation of the Group's annual Statutory Accounts and Tax Returns.
- Act as a key point of contact and assist with the smooth running of the annual Audit.
- Preparation of quarterly VAT returns for group companies.
- Assist with monthly payroll calculations, PAYE, headcount and payroll reporting.
- Accurately complete annual HMRC payroll related returns (P60, P11Ds).
- Any other ad hoc duties as required.

The person
A presentable and highly organised individual, with a keen attention to detail and a methodical approach to their work. An effective communicator, able to deal with colleagues, clients, third party lenders, solicitors and suppliers in a professional and confident manner. The successful candidate will have experience of working in a fast paced, busy finance department with the ability to prioritise and work to strict deadlines.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Mandatory
- Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Experience of working in a busy finance team.
- Experience of working under pressure to deliver against a range of issues and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent organisation, time management and multi-tasking skills are required for this role.
- Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships
- Good attention to detail
Desired
- Experience of the Financial Services sector.
- Working knowledge of Sage 200 accounts software
