Job summary

Diagnostic World is seeking a part-time Management Accountant to support financial management across the organisation. The role is remote and 15 hours per week, with flexible working hours and reporting to the Chief Operating Officer.

You will prepare monthly management accounts, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and partner with non-financial managers to explain financial performance and support decisions. AAT level 4 or higher is expected, with progression toward CIMA/ACCA/ICAEW.

Qualifications

• Hold relevant accountancy qualifications and/or experience in financial management (Minimum AAT level 4).
• Ideally working towards professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW).
• Great attention to detail in your work.
• Comfortable with large spreadsheets and manipulating data.
• Liaise with external and internal stakeholders to achieve budgetary requirements.
• Provide Management accounts and performance reports in line with KPI's.

Responsibilities

• Monthly Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts, profit and loss statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in compiling annual budgets and updating periodic financial forecasts.
• Business Partnering: Work with non-financial managers and various departments to explain financial performance and support decision-making.
• Identify areas for cost reduction, monitor expenditure against budgets, and evaluate financial risks.
• Process Improvement: Develop and oversee internal financial systems, controls, and accounting procedures.
• Coordinate payroll through our third party payroll provider.
• Ensure all payments to employees, suppliers, HMRC, pension providers are processed with sufficient time to be released by a Director before they are due.
• Assist the finance coordinator where necessary with contractual data reporting.

Management Accountant

Salary: £30-35K FTE

Hours: 15 per week (Flexible working)

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Introduction:

Diagnostic World are a leading provider of NHS and Private healthcare with services delivered from Community Diagnostic Centres, Community Health Centres and within our fleet of mobile and relocatable units. Within our service offering, we provide General and Musculoskeletal Ultrasound and Echocardiography to patients across the Midlands & South-East on a referred and self-referred basis.

• You will make healthcare better for our patients by supporting with company with our accountant finical management, adhering to best practice. Maintaining a high level of professionalism and technical standard of work, whilst being a Team player.

What you are responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:

Governance and Compliance:

• Ensure internal controls are being adhered to at all times.
• Take ownership of accounting and finance policies and recommend adjustments where required.
• Participate in company audits form financial auditors, CQC auditors, Accreditation auditors, internal audits and any other types of audits conducted.
• Ensure the finance department is fully compliant with GDPR.
• Provide input to the companies anti-money laundering and anti-bribery policies and practices.

Regulatory and Performance Reporting

• Reporting on the current state of finances, business activity, and risk management to regulatory bodies.
• Ethics and conduct standards: Codes of conduct or ethics are there for employees to adhere to. These standards tend to measure a lot more than what is legally necessary and contribute towards a climate of ethics within the organisation.
• As required, attend or participate as a member of other committees, groups or workshops as required

People Management

• Directly Manage the Finance Coordinator
• Work with Senior Leadership Team to provide performance against budgets, outline variances and raise any issues within their departments
• Participate in the annual appraisal process as a line report and as a line manager.
• Promote and maintain good client relations and the good reputation of Diagnostic World by ensuring audit work is undertaken with integrity competence, objectivity and confidentiality

You will:

• Accurately compiling management accounts within set time frames, include manual journals, accruals, prepayment and other accounting adjustments as required
• Developing a significant understanding of all Company business areas
• Being a team player and being able to work independently with minimal oversight
• Working with the Leadership Team to ensure all departments are working within Budget highlighting potential cost saving initiatives
