Job summary

Morgan McKinley in Kidlington, UK is seeking a qualified Management Accountant to own elements of the month-end process, produce management accounts, journals and balance sheet reporting. You will analyse performance against budget, provide insights on variances and work with operational and finance stakeholders.

In addition, you will manage inventory accounting, stock movements and accruals, and contribute to strengthening financial controls and reporting processes across the business.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
• Experience in management accounting.
• Experience with inventory accounting/stock control.
• Strong analytical skills and clear communication of financial information.

Job description

Responsibilities for the Management Accountant include:

• Own elements of the month end process, including management accounts, journals, reconciliations and balance sheet reporting.
• Analyse actual performance against budget and forecast, providing clear commentary and insight into key variances.
• Work closely with operational and finance stakeholders to understand business performance and identify areas requiring further investigation.
• Take responsibility for the accurate accounting and reporting of inventory, including stock movements, accruals, stock counts and adjustments.
• Maintain strong financial controls and support the continuous improvement of reporting processes across the business.

Profile

• It is essential the candidate is a Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
• Previous experience in management accounting, ideally within an engineering environment.
• Experience of inventory accounting, stock control or standard costing would be advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to work closely with stakeholders and communicate financial information clearly.
