Overview
As a Management Accountant, you will be part of a dynamic, fast-paced finance department. You will be responsible for the preparation, development and analysis of financial information to support strategy and decision-making. The role will play an essential part in providing the finance team with a focus on commercial and front-end operations. You will be responsible for delivering high quality management information, insights and analytics, and will also be supporting a small team.
The Role - Management Accountant
- To ensure the management reporting and analysis is completed in time, with all month end tasks completed within the deadlines.
- To be a main point of contact within the finance team to support with any day-to-day queries of the full finance function.
- To run the budgeting and reforecasting tasks across the finance team.
- To lead and handle monthly Management Accounts in a timely and efficient manner.
- To provide financial analysis of the results such as variance analysis, margin analysis and overhead analysis, compared against budget and / or forecast
- To identify any financial risks to the forecast, and to monitor the actions taken to mitigate the risks.
- To support departmental leads and budget holders with clear and simple financial reporting, ensuring all managers have a clear understanding of their budget and financial position.
- To take an active lead in the external audit and provide accurate and concise information to auditors.
- To review of all balance sheet reconciliations as part of the month end process.
- Any other ad hoc financial reporting duties as and when required of you.
What You Will Need in the Role of Management Accountant
- Qualified Accountant, with relevant post qualification experience.
- A financial background with strong experience in management accounting.
- Advanced in Excel.
- Proficient in a form of SQL database
- Proven ability to manage a varied and fast paced workload.
- Strategic thinker with good commercial awareness.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Responsive, with a service-driven approach.
