Job summary

MarcDaniels is seeking an experienced management accountant to support the divisional finance manager. The role is permanent and hybrid, requiring travel to the Wokingham office two days per week.

Applicants should have month-end accounting experience and be part way through AAT/ACCA or CIMA studies, with a proactive attitude and hands-on finance experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare management accounts in line with month-end timetable.
• Reconcile balance sheet items and resolve unreconciled items.
• Perform account analyses and post adjusting journals.
• Manage purchase ledger payments and allocations.
• Process GL bank payments and receipts.
• Reconcile supplier statements.
• Record credit card expenditures and reclaim VAT where appropriate.
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts.
• Reconcile intercompany accounts and handle invoicing.
• Own accruals and prepayments schedules.
• Prepare manual journals for prepayments/accruals.
• Assist the Finance Manager with month-end expense analysis.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and support monthly close.

Job description

A global leader in their field seeks an experienced management accountant to support their divisional finance manager on a permanent basis. This role is offered on a hybrid basis where you will be required to travel to their office in Wokingham 2 days per week.

Suitable applicants will have prior month end accounting experience and will be part way through their AAT/ACCA or CIMA studies. In addition to having the relevant practical experience you will also need to demonstrate a positive attitude and pro‑active approach.

Key responsibilities:

• Preparing management accounts in line with month end timetable
• Responsible for balance sheet reconciliations and resolving any unreconciled items
• Perform various account analyses, identify and post any required adjusting journal entries
• Purchase ledger payments and allocation
• Processing G/L bank payment and receipts
• Supplier statement reconciliations
• Posting credit card expenditure and ensuring all applicable receipts have been received from all cardholders, and any necessary reclaimable input VAT is identified
• Bank and credit card account reconciliations
• Intercompany account reconciliations and invoicing
• Ownership of accrual and prepayment schedules
• Prepare manual journal entries for prepayments/accruals
• Assist the Finance Manager with month-end expense account analysis
• Maintain general ledger accuracy
• Support the Finance Manager during the monthly close process and look to standardise then improve tasks
