Join to apply for the Management Accountant role at Brakes UK.

We are looking for a Qualified or passed finalist Management Accountant to join our finance team. You’ll report directly to the Senior Finance Business Partner and be responsible for business partnering the Supply Chain and Operations Division. This role balances support and challenge to enable the supply chain management teams to achieve sustainable profitable growth, focusing on operational delivery and customer service. The role covers functions and depots in Harlow, Aylesford, Brighton, and Thetford.

We offer a hybrid working contract, requiring attendance at the Harlow or Aylesford depot twice a week, with occasional visits to Brighton & Thetford. Flexibility with travel is necessary.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

• Provision, analysis, and interpretation of weekly and monthly reports to monitor performance.
• Production of management accounts and variance analysis.
• Weekly flash and monthly forecasts of depot costs and volumes.
• Monitoring KPIs & volume weekly.
• Preparation of budgets and forecasts with appropriate challenge for cost control.
• Collaborate with management to identify trends, opportunities, and issues to enhance performance and profitability.
• Serve as the point of contact for finance-related matters for management teams.
• Ensure compliance with group policies, SOX requirements, and documentation of variances and investigations.
• Participate in ad hoc projects, business case development, and process improvements.

About You:

You will be a recently qualified accountant or a passed finalist (CIMA, ACCA, ACA), currently working as a Finance Business Partner, Management Accountant, or Finance Analyst. You should have confidence in stakeholder engagement, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in financial analysis and modelling. Advanced Excel skills are required; knowledge of SAP or Workday is advantageous.
