Job summary

Wade Macdonald are recruiting a proactive Management Accountant for a growing technology business in Manchester. You will join a small finance team and take ownership of management accounting, financial operations and business partnering during a period of growth.

This role also involves month-end close, financial reporting, tax support, and contributing to a finance systems upgrade, with hybrid working.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and assist month-end close.
• Oversee day-to-day finance activities and ensure timely reporting.
• Assist with tax compliance, audit prep and year-end work.
• Maintain general ledger, perform reconciliations and apply financial controls.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to provide insights for decision-making.
• Support transition from Xero to a new finance system and improve reporting.

About the Job

This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and ambitious Management Accountant to join a small finance team during an exciting period of growth and transformation. The role offers a broad mix of management accounting, financial operations and business partnering, alongside the opportunity to play a key part in an upcoming finance systems change.

Duties will include:

• Preparing monthly management accounts and supporting the month-end close process.
• Overseeing day-to-day finance activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Supporting tax compliance, audit preparation and year-end requirements.
• Maintaining the general ledger, including reconciliations, journals and financial controls.
• Working closely with stakeholders across the business to provide financial insight and support decision-making.
• Assisting with the transition from Xero to a new finance system, helping to improve processes and reporting capabilities.
• Identifying opportunities to streamline existing procedures and improve efficiencies.
