Job description

Company Description Cornflake curates smart home living environments that reimagine how people experience their homes across residential, hospitality, and commercial spaces. The company focuses on lifestyle and emotion rather than technology alone, creating holistic home experiences that enrich everyday life. Cornflake specializes in integrating intuitive technology into domestic environments to deliver moments of wonder, deeper connection, and meaningful togetherness. Based in London, the team designs ambient and connected spaces that elevate how people live, relax, and interact at home.

Role Description We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our Finance team. Our business spans multiple revenue streams and this role is central to providing accurate, timely financial information across each of them. The Management Accountant will be responsible for month-end reporting, project accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering with project managers, sales, and operations teams. A core focus of the role is tracking project profitability across long-lead-time AV installations and contracts, so strong project accounting experience is essential.

The role also involves supporting year-end processes, contributing to continuous improvement of reporting, and providing clear financial insights aligned with Cornflake’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting, within agreed deadlines
  • Maintain project accounting for AV installation and integration contracts, including job costing, WIP, stage/milestone billing, and revenue recognition in line with contract terms

  • Produce segmented reporting and variance analysis across the business’s revenue streams (projects/installations, hardware and equipment sales, managed services/maintenance contracts, and rental/hire), explaining key drivers to non-finance stakeholders
  • Support the annual budgeting process and periodic reforecasting cycles, including project-level and pipeline-based forecasting
  • Prepare and post journals, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and project WIP adjustments
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure control accounts are maintained accurately, including project-related accounts (WIP, accrued/deferred income, retentions)
  • Business partner with project managers, operations, and sales teams to provide financial insight, project cost control, and margin analysis
  • Assist with year-end statutory accounts preparation and liaise with external auditors
  • Monitor and report on KPIs, cost centres, and departmental spend across all revenue streams
  • Support process improvement initiatives, including systems and reporting automation
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial controls, policies, and UK accounting standards (FRS 102/IFRS as applicable), including revenue recognition standards for long-term contracts
  • Assist with VAT returns and other statutory/regulatory submissions as required
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support for business cases, tenders, and new projects
Qualifications

  • Demonstrable project accounting experience, including job costing, WIP management, and revenue recognition on project/contract-based work

  • Involvement in systems implementation or process improvement projects
Qualifications
  • CIMA / ACCA / ACA (finalist, or newly qualified) or qualified by experience
What We Offer
  • Salary range £45,000-£55,000 dependant on experience
  • Study support and paid study leave (if applicable)
  • 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing upon tenure
