Job summary

Vistry Cornwall South West in Exeter is seeking a Management Accountant to support Regional Finance Managers and the Financial Controller with financial and commercial analysis, internal and external reporting, and financial control.

Qualifications

• Strong academic record and GCSE/A levels or equivalent
• Experience of Management Accounting within a large-scale/complex business
• Very good understanding of Microsoft Office, Outlook and especially Excel
• Able to explain technical financial information clearly to non-finance people
• Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy
• Good understanding of the business
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Excellent analytical and organisational skills
• Honest and discreet

Responsibilities

• Support with the production of budgets, forecasts, and monthly management accounts to strict deadlines
• Completion of regular weekly and monthly management information relating to housebuilding activities
• Monitor performance against management plans and communicate trends and risks
• Control of overheads and raising of accruals, prepayments, and relevant journals
• Assist with the revenue recognition process
• Management and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
• Assist with preparing project and business unit cash flows
• Maintain and update the joint ventures financial models and assist in their development
• Assist with maintaining ERP plot database
• Ad hoc reporting and generation of information to support management reporting and analysis
• Provide general support to the team as and when required

As our Management Accountant, you will support the Regional Finance Managers and Financial Controller in providing financial and commercial analysis and assisting in the provision of internal and external reporting and financial control.

• Experience within Joint Venture accounting principals, including production of financial statements and reporting
• Knowledge of the housebuilding or construction industry
• Experience using COINS (ERP system)
• Experience using Anaplan
