Job description

Management Accountant - Manufacturing

We are recruiting a newly qualified (CIMA/ACCA) Management Accountant with manufacturing experience and an aptitude for forensic analysis.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial health of operations by providing accurate and timely financial information. This position is perfect for a proactive individual with strong analytical skills who wants to further their career in Management Accounting.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts and completion of month end relating to production operations.
  2. Variance Analysis: Conduct detailed variance analysis between actual performance and budget/forecast, identifying key drivers of variances.
  3. Cost Accounting: Monitor and analyse manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labour, and overheads. Ensure accurate allocation of costs to products and projects.
  4. Inventory Management: Oversee inventory valuation and management, ensuring accurate reporting and minimizing excess stock levels.
  5. Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with operational teams to identify and implement process improvements that drive efficiency, cost savings, and financial performance.
  6. Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with production, supply chain, and other departments to provide financial guidance and challenge variances.

Manufacturing experience is critical to this role along with highly demonstrable successes in variance analysis, cost accounting, and financial reporting. Highly developed IT Skills are a must and the ability to communicate financial information to non-finance colleagues is crucial to your success.
