Job Description: Management Accountant



Job Title: Management AccountantLocation: Dudley Salary: £35,000 - £45,000Contract Type: Permanent - Full TimeReporting to: Finance Business Partner (FBP)Department: Finance

Purpose of the Role:

The Management Accountant plays a critical role in supporting the financial health of the strategic contracts within the sector by producing accurate financial and management analysis, providing insight into performance through reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making and cost controls. The post holder will be responsible for the monitoring of key performance indicators and controls, maintaining and distributing accurate accounts / reports for key stakeholders, and supporting the Finance Business partner in any other tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

-Preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including profit & loss, balance sheet, and debt reports

-Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, collaborating with FBP / departmental managers

-Conduct variance analysis and provide meaningful commentary to explain deviations from budgets and forecasts

-Monitor KPIs and support performance improvement initiatives

-Support strategic financial planning and modelling activities

-Liaise with auditors, preparing audit schedules and responding to queries

-Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and accounting standards

-Provide financial advice and support to non-finance stakeholders

-Identify opportunities for margin enhancing initiatives and process improvements

-Working capital management including co-ordination of effort between shared service departments and contract teams

-Maintain the integrity of financial data within finance systems (SAP, Coupa, Saffron, Symphony)

-Support the Finance Business Partner with any other ad-hoc tasks
