Management Accountant £35,000 Exeter

DK Recruitment are partnering with an Exeter based client who are looking for a Management Accountant to join a supportive and growing finance team, providing vital support to the Finance Manager and making a real impact on the way the organisation runs.

In this role, you ll be central to month-end, management accounts preparation, budgeting, and financial analysis. You ll also play a key part in process improvement, reporting, and year-end activities helping the business make informed decisions and plan for the future.

What you ll be doing:
  • Leading the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset postings
  • Preparing monthly management accounts with variance analysis and clear commentary
  • Coordinating month-end timetables and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting cycles, including preparing and consolidating data
  • Assisting with year-end accounts and audit preparation
  • Producing and developing regular financial and sales reports
  • Managing the fixed asset register and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparing and supporting VAT returns
  • Resolving queries and communicating financial information across the business
What we re looking for:
  • AAT Level 4 qualified, or CIMA/ACCA part-qualified with strong management accounts experience
  • Confident with VAT returns and reconciliations
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across teams
  • Highly organised with the ability to meet strict deadlines
  • A collaborative, positive approach
