Job description

Due to growth and an ever-increasing order book, we are looking to strengthen our Finance team with the addition of a Management Accountant.

This is a permanent position based at our site in Burnley, and we are looking to start the successful applicant as soon as possible.

Core Responsibilities
  1. Preparing Management Accounts within a pre-defined format
  2. Analysis and reconciliations, for detailed review by Financial Director.
  3. Preparation of consolidated management accounts of business unit.
  4. Preparation of annual Statutory Accounts to draft stage.
  5. Assisting with the preparation of business forecasts and variance reporting against them
  6. Assisting with the preparation of the monthly management accounts
  7. Reviewing trial balance and reconciliation
  8. Preparing and submitting the VAT return
  9. Processing of weekly and monthly payroll for submission to HO for payroll processing and reconciliation of all reports and preparation of journals.
  10. Reconciliation of payroll control accounts and making payments to HMRC
  11. Preparation of monthly reports to Head Office.
  12. Entering receipts/payments and carry out bank reconciliations.
  13. Ensuring that the customers pay on time via planned debt recovery and prompt dealing with queries received.
  14. Weekly reporting of debtors to management.
  15. Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts at year end.
Person Specification
  1. Financial qualifications such as CIMA or ACCA is advantageous but not essential and would be considered against the salary
  2. AAT Qualifications are essential
  3. Experience in finance orientated roles
  4. Exposure to Payroll, preparing Accounts and reporting
  5. IT literate with the ability to provide detailed financial reports
  6. Attention to detail with the ability to work to strict deadlines
