A well respected Brighton employer is looking to recruit a full time fixed term contract Management Accountant.
Job Description
As Management Accountant, you will be responsible for:
- Monthly management accounts (Income and Expenditure account, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Forecast, key performance indicators and commentary as agreed with your line manager and in accordance with the agreed timetable).
- Oversee finance to ensure month end routines are correctly followed, including monthly accounting entries, payroll journal, bank reconciliation, accruals and prepayments, accrued and deferred income.
- Maintaining KPI information for financial decision making, including staffing costs.
- Lead in the preparation of consolidated management accounts (Income and Expenditure account, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Forecast, key performance indicators, and summary narrative).
- Undertake monthly reviews and quality assurance checks on income and expenditure accounts and cash flow forecasts.
- Work in conjunction with the Finance Manager (Commercial and Fixed Assets) to ensure month end journals are posted for fixed assets and purchase ledger. Assist with expenditure analysis and contracts management.
- Take a proactive role in developing financial tools to support effective budget management, including conducting benchmarking exercises and utilizing recommended tools. Contribute to the development of IT systems relevant to this role.
The Successful Applicant
- Educated to Degree or equivalent level, with a high level of competency in maths.
- Part Qualified ACCA / CIMA or QBE.
- Strong working knowledge of various accounting packages.
