Responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts for two subsidiaries within the group.
• Prepare monthly VAT returns.
• Prepare monthly variance analysis.
• Oversee transactional finance duties, ledger maintenance and cash postings.
• Prepare and post monthly journals for month-end close.
• Carry out monthly balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Assist with annual audit.
• Payroll experience - assisting when payroller is on leave.

Working in a close-knit finance team and reporting into the head of finance, this is an opportunity that allows the chosen candidate to have autonomy over the accounting function, collaborating with senior management and driving financial performance. This is an ideal role for a management accountant looking for a role that will utilise their skills within an ever-evolving manufacturing business.

Duties include:

• Working closely with the head of finance and producing the management accounts for two businesses within the group
• Responsible for the monthly VAT returns
• Prepare monthly variance analysis
• Oversee the transactional finance duties, ledger maintenance and cash postings
• Preparing and posting monthly journals for smooth month-end close
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Analyse financial data, produce month-end reports
• Assist with annual audit
• Payroll experience - assisting when payroller is on leave

Person specification:

• Qualified by experience / AAT qualified
• Proven experience of producing management accounts
• Strong diligence / attention to detail
• Ability to work unsupervised with autonomy
• Good finance analysis skills
• Ideally working knowledge of SAP and Xero
