A leading professional services firm is seeking a Management Accountant for a 12-month contract based in Birmingham. The successful candidate will support senior stakeholders with accurate reporting, group consolidation, and process improvements in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should be fully qualified accountants with strong management accounting skills and advanced Excel capabilities.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years' experience in management accounting.
  • Fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA).
  • Proficient in advanced Excel, creating models and macros.

Job description

Management Accountant (12-Month Contract)
Location: Birmingham (Hybrid - 3 days office / 2 days home)
Salary: Up to 55,000 + benefits

We're partnering with a leading professional services firm to recruit a confident and capable Management Accountant for a 12-month contract. This role supports senior stakeholders with accurate reporting, group consolidation, and ongoing improvements across systems and processes in a multi-entity environment. The ideal candidate will either be immediately available or on 1 months notice.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and support group consolidation

  • Lead month-end close, including journals, accruals, and variance analysis

  • Deliver insightful reporting to support strategic decisions

  • Produce balance sheet reconciliations and assist with statutory reporting

  • Partner with budget holders to improve financial performance

  • Drive process improvements and maintain strong internal controls



About You:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA) with 3+ years' experience

  • Strong background in management accounting and financial analysis

  • Advanced Excel skills (lookups, modelling, preferably macros)

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)

  • Confident communicator, able to influence non-finance stakeholders

  • Proactive, solutions-focused, and adaptable in a fast-paced setting
