Management Accountant. Permanent. Hybrid working. Full-time. Up to £40,000. Birmingham.

Your new company

A large and growing company based in Birmingham City Centre is currently recruiting for a new Management Accountant on a permanent basis. In this role, you will support the Financial Controller and lead the production, reporting, and commentary of central overhead accounts throughout the month-end cycle. You will also play an active role in quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting processes, ensuring accuracy and strategic alignment.

Your new role
  1. Prepare and post month-end journals and accruals for designated central overhead departments.
  2. Conduct thorough balance sheet reconciliations for allocated accounts, ensuring timely resolution of all reconciling items.
  3. Identify areas of concern and collaborate with the Financial Controller to determine appropriate actions, working closely with department heads.
  4. Partner with the Financial Controller to deliver precise and timely overhead commentary, analysing key cost drivers against budget, forecast, and prior year figures.
  5. Assist with audit queries and analysis, both internally and externally.
  6. Provide support to the Financial Controller with system upgrades, implementation, and project governance and controls.
What you'll need to succeed
  1. Part Qualified Accountant at the Final stage of (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
  2. Confident with all areas of management account analysis.
  3. Good analytical skills and a high attention to detail.
  4. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build healthy working relationships with business stakeholders.
  5. IT literate with intermediate Excel skills.
