Job summary

A well-established family-owned business near Banbury is seeking a full-time Management Accountant for maternity cover. You will manage day-to-day ledgers, prepare management accounts, and ensure financial controls. Candidates should possess relevant experience, be AAT qualified or part-qualified in ACCA/CIMA, and be comfortable working in a dynamic finance team.

Qualifications

  • Previous management accounts preparation experience in a commercial business.
  • AAT Qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA.
  • Ability to work in a small, busy team and to strict deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the production and delivery of monthly management accounts and weekly KPI reporting.
  • Manage accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations, with journal postings.
  • Oversee production of weekly creditors reports.

Job description

Our client is a long-standing, family-owned business based close to the town of Banbury. They have a small but busy finance team and are currently looking to recruit a full-time Management Accountant, to provide temporary maternity cover support to the business. As part of the finance team, you will own the day to day ledgers and production of the management accounts.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintaining financial controls and regularly communicating results with management across the business.
  • Lead the production and delivery of monthly management accounts and weekly KPI reporting.
  • Manage accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations, with journal postings. Maintaining the balance sheet as part of the month end process.
  • Cost management and project accounting.
  • Oversee production of weekly creditors reports.
  • Prepare and oversee regular supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Complete the monthly VAT/Intrastat returns.
  • Oversee the management of the accounts payable ledger including weekly payment runs.
  • Develop AP reporting process.

Skills & experience required:

  • Previous management accounts preparation experience in a commercial business.
  • AAT Qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA.
  • Sage Accounting software experience (or similar).
  • Ability to work in a small, busy team and to strict deadlines.
  • General MS Office expertise.
  • Own transport is required (rural location).
