Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent is required.
• Formal radiologic technology training of two years is required.
• ARRT registration is required.
• Holds a valid State of Rhode Island Radiographer license.
• At least 3–6 months experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
• ARRT Registry in Mammography or registry eligible within one year.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to obtain accurate medical history and enter data into the mammography system.
• Differentiate between screening and diagnostic mammograms based on indications and patient history.
• Perform all views for screening and diagnostic mammography as required by radiologist.
• Set up room with aseptic technique for biopsies and assist radiologists in breast localizations.
• Conduct QA/QC tests as mandated by state, FDA, and ACR.
• Review and ensure quality of mammography images and adjust technique as needed.
• Notify lead technologist of equipment issues and ensure equipment readiness.
• Provide information to patients about breast cancer resources and guidelines.

Education

High school graduation or equivalent

Formal radiologic technology training (2 years)

ARRT registered

State RI Radiographer license

3–6 months radiologic technologist experience

ARRT Mammography certification or registry eligible

CPR certification
