Job summary

North Cumbria Breast Imaging Unit within North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Mammographer (Band 6) for 37.5 hours per week, fixed term, cross site with base to be discussed. Main duties of the job

You must have HCPC registration as a radiographer and Postgraduate Award in Mammography.

You will work as a part of a multi‑disciplinary team providing both screening and symptomatic breast imaging to the population of North and West Cumbria. You will gain a wealth of experience in breast imaging supported by the existing breast imaging team.

The North Cumbria Breast Screening Unit provides screening to approximately 22,500 women per year between the ages of 50-70 as part of the National Health Service Breast Programme.

Qualifications
  • Good command of the English language with a good standard of literacy and numeracy.
  • Post Graduate qualifications at Masters level in Mammographic practice
  • Essential IT skills or equivalent.
Experience
  • Wide range of practical experience
  • Experience of supervision of less experienced radiographers, students and departmental staff.
  • National Health Service Breast Screening Service Programme for England.
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team.
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of National Health Service Breast Screening Programme and symptomatic services
