Male Teaching Assistant Secondary SEN South East London

We are looking for an experienced Male Teaching Assistant who inspires to work with in an SEN environment. As a Male Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting students in a classroom at one of leading Secondary schools in London. There is a clear preference in the gender due to the challenging nature of the role some of year 8 boys can be quite difficult to regulate in terms of behaviour. We want you to use a safe and effective approach to ensue, this pupil receives the best support.

Role: Male Teaching Assistant

Start: ASAP

Contract: Full time

Hours: 08:30 - 15:30

Location: Waltham Forest, East London

Rate: 95- 115 Per Day

Ideal Candidate:

  • Supervising and supporting pupils
  • Assisting in the development of appropriate resources, schemes of work and teaching strategies
  • Supporting with behaviour management
  • Undertaking structured and agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities to ensure achievement of learning goals
  • Assisting with the supervision of children out of lesson times, such as playtime and lunchtime duty
  • Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all children, supporting difference and ensuring that all have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working directly with young people in an education or training environment, supporting the learning of students.
  • Some basic knowledge of SEND and learning barriers.
  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting.
  • Bachelor's degree (Education Studies, Psychology or Sports Degrees are welcome)
