Job summary

Howe Dell Manor in Hatfield, AL10 8AE, is hiring a Mental Health Support Worker. You’ll join a supportive team helping adults with complex mental health needs, putting care plans into action and using digital systems to log care and update records.

The role offers full training, a friendly environment, and opportunities for progression in a purpose-driven team. Evenings and nights may be required, with free parking and a DBS-funded setup.

Qualifications

  • NVQ/QCF/RQF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care preferred
  • Experience in a team-focused environment
  • Understanding of how mental health can affect daily life
  • Support experience - preferably in mental health or related settings
  • We also value life experience and a strong work ethic

Responsibilities

  • Put care plans into action and update records with clarity
  • Keep things running smoothly and safely as part of a wider team
  • Support senior staff and help new team members get up to speed
  • Use digital systems for logging care, booking leave, and sharing updates
  • Help support the care, safety, and wellbeing of our residents
  • A practical mindset and a willingness to learn
  • Strong communication - listening, talking, and being clear with others
  • Ability to follow routines and think on your feet when needed
  • Team spirit and flexibility - day and night shifts available
  • Basic IT confidence for using systems and records

Howe Dell Manor is our 19-bed specialist nursing home in Hatfield (AL10 8AE) offering a range of specialist services for men and women aged 18 and older who are suffering from enduring mental illness. Next door to Howe Dell Manor, the Coach House is a 10-bed separately registered residential home. At the Coach House, we provide a smaller, more intimate living space for men nearing the end of their rehabilitation.
