Job description

Role Description – Mental Health Support Worker

Gray Healthcare is recruiting a team of mental health support workers in the Winterton area of North Lincolnshire. The role involves supporting a gentleman in his 60s with Autism and Moderate Learning Disability, who lives independently and receives 24-hour 1:1 support. The team will work in shifts, including days and waking nights, with a mixed-gender team.

Skills and Experience Required

  1. Social care experience, ideally in mental health and supporting individuals with Schizophrenia.
  2. Experience encouraging individuals with complex health needs and Learning Disabilities.
  3. Experience supporting individuals exhibiting challenging behaviors.
  4. Experience implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments.
  5. Must have the Right to Work in the UK and have been employed in the UK for at least 6 months. Please note that sponsorship is not available.
  6. Subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.

Working Hours

24-hour contracts with 2 x 12-hour shifts per week, including day shifts.

Induction and Training

Initial training includes online modules (company induction, systems, medication), followed by in-person training on PROACT-SCIPr-UK, a PBS approach to least restrictive practice, and person-centered training tailored to the individual supported. Ongoing training and career development are encouraged.
