Job summary

Autism Initiatives in Walton, Liverpool is seeking a Senior Support Worker (Driver required) to join our team and help people live fulfilled lives in the community. The role is 39 hours per week with a salary of £28,188 per annum.

You will support the Service Manager in guiding staff, delivering person-centred care, and promoting independence. Training, DBS checks, and progression toward Diploma Level 3 will be provided, with some evening and weekend shifts and driving duties as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Diploma Level 3 in Adult Care (RQF) required or in progress.
• Full UK driving licence for at least 1 year and ability to drive an automatic car.
• DBS disclosure required, cost met by employer.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of care staff to enable people to live independently and participate in local communities.
• Demonstrate best practice and act as a role model to staff.
• Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for staff and support career progression.
• Deputise for the Service Manager when required and support rota planning.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will be committed to supporting people in a positive, creative way that enables people to live a fulfilled life. You will support the Service Manager in leading a team who work hard to encourage the people we support to live as independently as possible and to be part of their local community.

You will demonstrate best practice and be a role model for the team. In your new role you will receive ongoing support to ensure your continued professional development and obtain your Diploma Level 3 in Adult Care (RQF).

Senior Support Workers are supported by the manager of the service where they are assigned to work. Senior Support Workers will deputise for the Service Manager where required. Staff are provided their working rota 4 weeks in advance by the Service Manager. Shifts patterns will also include some evening and weekend work. Where sleep in shifts are required at a service, this will be discussed further at interview with the opportunity to develop your skills, knowledge and your career.

Due to the needs of the service, the successful applicant will have held a full UK driving licence for at least one year and be able to drive an automatic car.

Given the nature of the role, these positions are subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure for the successful applicants. The cost of which will be met by Autism Initiatives.
