Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary (with potential to become permanent)
Salary: MPS/UPS (Dependent on experience)

Are you an enthusiastic and skilled PE educator, passionate about developing ambitious, capable learners and ethically informed citizens? Teaching Personnel are seeking a committed male PE Teacher to join one of our high-performing partner secondary school in Bridgend with immediate effect, in line with our continued drive to support the Curriculum for Wales and promote learner wellbeing through high-quality teaching and learning.

Role Overview:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging Physical Education lessons within the Health and Wellbeing Area of Learning and Experience (AoLE)
  • Support pupils’ physical, mental and emotional wellbeing through inclusive and differentiated approaches
  • Embed the Four Purposes across the curriculum, ensuring students become:
    – Ambitious, capable learners
    – Enterprising, creative contributors
    – Ethical, informed citizens
    – Healthy, confident individuals
  • Promote cross-curricular skills, including literacy, numeracy, and digital competence through PE activities
  • Contribute to authentic learning experiences, outdoor learning, and active citizenship through sports and extracurricular provision

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching PE at KS3 and KS4 (and ideally KS5)
  • Be passionate about delivering a progression-based curriculum and supporting pupil-led learning
  • Be familiar with assessment for learning, pupil voice, and curriculum design principles aligned to the Curriculum for Wales
  • Model high expectations and inclusive practice, catering to a wide range of learner needs
  • Be prepared to lead and support extracurricular clubs and sports fixtures
  • (Please note: Due to supervision responsibilities within changing areas and PE settings, this post is open to male applicants only, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1)
