• Support access to community activities during school holidays.
• Accompany him to swimming sessions, parks, and other outings.
• Encourage engagement in activities while maintaining routine and structure.
• Promote independence, confidence, and social inclusion.
• Administer prescribed medication when required.
• Monitor wellbeing and respond appropriately to signs of anxiety or distress.
• Recognise triggers and use positive de-escalation techniques.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with family members.

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated, reliable, and experienced Male Personal Assistant / Support Worker to provide one-to-one support for an 18-year-old young man with autism.

The family moved home six months ago, and he is currently working towards returning to college. He thrives on consistency, routine, and clear expectations and requires support from someone who can provide structure, encouragement, and reassurance throughout his day.

Roles and Responsibilities

During Term Time

Support with morning routines and preparation for college.

Prompt and encourage dressing and personal readiness.

Assist with transport arrangements and accompany him to and from college when required.

Use visual supports, social stories, and clear communication to help him understand daily plans.

Provide reassurance around transitions and changes to routine.

Help establish and maintain consistent routines.

During School Holidays

Support access to community activities.

Accompany him to swimming sessions, parks, and other suitable outings.

Encourage engagement in activities while maintaining routine and structure.

Promote independence, confidence, and social inclusion.

Administer prescribed medication when required.

Monitor wellbeing and respond appropriately to signs of anxiety or distress.

Recognise triggers and use positive de-escalation techniques.
